What are stores I can go to get my right bra size and a good bra?

Question Posted Sunday January 15 2012, 2:33 am

I got measured at the mall and they gave me a bra size too big. They told me I was a 36 DD and then someone else said I was a 34 C. MY bra's never feel right. Where can I get a good bra that fits?

Any good department store like Macy's or Lord and Taylor will have a fitter schedule in the lady's intimate apparel department. Call one of them and find out when the fitter will be there and if an appointment is needed.

To work out a bra size it's -

Wear a non-padded bra and measure around the band, making sure the tape doesn't slip.
(say it's 34 inches.)
(if an odd number, round down)

Then measure around the biggest part of the bust in the same way.
(say 37 inches)

Subtract the bust size (37) from the band size (34) - This gives the cup size.

0 inches = AA
1 inches = A
2 inches = B
3 inches = C
etc.

This would make you a 34 C

- Debhanams seem to always up-size, I'd advise going to La Senza or M&S if you are to go to a shop.

I've had problems like that before. One thing that I've noticed is that your bra size will vary between different brands and different materials. The best thing is to do is to try on different sizes for the same bra until you find a size that you feel comfortable with. Depending on how much you want to spend on bras, you could go to Victoria's secret (too expensive for my taste) or places like Kohls, JcPenny's, and Marshalls that still have a wide good variety and a lower price. Brands will also vary depending on what type of bra you want. Just don't forget to try it on and make sure it fits first! good luck :)
