High School Best 4 Years Of Life?

Question Posted Friday January 6 2012, 8:51 pm

Why do they say "high school is the best 4 years of your life?" Why? Isn't that only in the movies, cause everyone in high school says its all homework and tests and extremely hard. Why is it the best?
Im 13/f and i go to high school this year but next school year (in 8th grade)

High School was the BEST 4 years of my life!

I had some great times in high school, I was a teenage and I learned a lot both educationally and about myself. High school is where you grow into an adult and it almsot shapes you before you get to college. When you're in high school, you want to leave but once you leave you want to go back. I remember when I was in high school I wanted to leave and now I want to go back so badly. I did some amazing things in high school like made friends, joined some choirs, went to prom, and graduated. Its the experiences you'll go through that make those 4 years amazing and special! Good luck and enjoy it! And whatever you do don't rush it, because 4 years goes by so quick!

I've rarely heard people say high school is the best four years of their life. Most people find college to be much more enjoyable, as do I. Some people enjoy high school if they have a fun social life, but more often than not, kids struggle in the transition from childhood to adult during this time. Boys will hurt you, you might not do as well as you did in middle school grade-wise, and you'll be struggling to accept the changes your body goes through. However, it is a very care-free time and you get your first taste of freedom. I'd say I enjoyed my last year of high school the most.

I hope you can look past the insecurities and relationship drama when you get to high school. And if you can't, remember that college is a new world of opportunities too.

It a phrase that has stood the test of time mostly because it is one that is used and seen in retrospect.

We all have different experiences in high school. Some of us hated high school while we were in high school. But our mind play funny tricks on us. We forget the things, over time, that we real disliked and only remember the good things.

Just like when I was in the Air Force. If anyone asks me I'll tell them I had a great time. But when I really think about it those four years were a terrible waste of my time. Yes I served my country and I'm proud I did. As for having fun, lets put it this way. Some of the things I had to see were not things I wrote home about and I guess I have tried to block them from my memory and only remember the good things.

High school is the same way. Years from now you talk about dating and the fun and friends you had. The joy of having more adult freedoms your parents gave you as you grew older. You will forget all about the, the homework, the tests, PE and the nasty teachers except for the fun you made of them.

It is very much a retrospective phrase that every parent and the movies find away to work into your life.

Ever person has a different experience of what High School was like for them. In my opinion High School is not really the best years of your life.

Lets face it, In today's society it is all about the influence, peer pressure, bullying.......That alone doesn't earn the title. I've heard that phrase one or twice and I always assumed that perhaps it was used because it's the last 4 years of school. (At least before you hit College) High School is much different then Jr. High. It's bigger and as your grades don't matter much in middle school, Once you hit high school your grade point average matters.

My experience, I hated High School but of course I never made it any easier on myself being in the principals office frequently. Like I said everyone has different experiences.
