I'm kind of shy and quiet, especially about my love life. I don't know how to tell a complete stranger about the abuse that happened to me. I have told a few people, and still feel guilty and dirty about it. I don't know how to make sure that the person I am spilling my personal thoughts and feelings to is going to make things better or accidentally make it worse. Anybody got any thoughts or ideas?
But for now, the only thing I can really tell you is that you didn't deserve the abuse, you're a good person and you are not alone. There is nothing wrong with you. Your reaction to the abuse is very common and understandable.

If you prefer a female then you can always request to see a female doctor. Yes, They are people we do not know personally but therapist are people who specialize in all kinds of things. They deal with these problems everyday and you wouldn't be the only odd one to stand out. They are there to help you, Listen to you, Help you find a better way to deal with your feelings and daily life struggles. Like a doctor, They are not there to judge you they are there to help you. I found the ones i went to when i was younger didn't do a single thing to help me. But i tried a new one my mom was going to and she actually helped me thru my problems. It all depends on the person.. Please remeber it will take a while. When i started with the new girl i didn't talk for the first few sessions. Then one day i just started opening up.
