That is really passive aggressive and putting up with it makes you look needy. The guy also needs to grow a pair and speak up if he wants to end the relationship rather than trying to provoke you into doing it for him.

But I think that it's because he's trying to make you really jelous so you'll be like all over him.
Guys love being fought over because they feel in control, so don't give him a fight!
Sure, dump him because you deserve so much better, but act like you couldn't care less about him as soon as you dump him. No texts/calls/facebook messages, nothing.
That way he'll wonder what he's done wrong, and then realise he lost something great.

A guy that can't respect you enough to tell you to your face that the relationship is over doesn't have balls. Sounds to me that this guy is trying to give you the hint that the relationship is over.
