Hey guys, I've been feeling really weird lately. For the past 2 weeks ive pretty much felt nauseous. And i almost never am hungry, like i havent eaten barely anything in the past week. I mainly just drink stuff because im extremely thirstyand i know physically my body is hungry but im just really not hungry and it makes me more nauseous to even think about food. Im using nauseous loosely because i havent even been near close enough to puking. Well except twice. I find taking a deep breath every now and then relieves it for a few seconds but then its back. Im not pregnant. There isnt even the slightest chance that i am. But i had a headache yesterday and i took 6 Ibeauprofeun throught the day and they barely touched it. It was the kind of headache where even if i stood up slow my eyes would black out for a few seconds. I dont know if this could be dangerous or something and i know this wont be a legit diagnosis but i just wanted some i deas because i dont want to goto the doctor and it be no big deal or just randomly stop before i go. And i dont know if it would help but my father does have diabetes the worst kind. Ive also had hypoglycemia for a few years now. Which is the complete oposite of diabetes but also a step or two from developing into diabetes. Not that i think i have diabetes . Sorry its long and THANKS.
You may be diabetic. See a doctor as soon as you can. The fact that your dad has it is a real warning sign. It runs in my family, too, so I know what I'm talking about. Good luck. [ VoiceofReason's advice column | Ask VoiceofReason A Question ]
adviceman49 answered Friday July 29 2011, 8:05 am: MY RESPONCE: Lets start with the Motrin. According to the manufacture; the maximum daily dosage is 3,200mgs. You took 4,800mgs or 1,600mgs over the recommended dosage. That is an overdose regardless of how you took them. This dosage is only recommended under a doctors supervision and only for extreme circumstances such as chronic pain. For a headache the recommended dosage is 200 to 400 mgs 4 times a day.
Your hypoglycemia: Among the treatments for this condition is to eat small, frequent meals with complex carbohydrates, fiber, and fat and to avoid simple sugars, alcohol, and fruit juice. You should also eat meals at regular intervals, and balance extra exercise with extra food. Your extremely thirsty, should this be telling you something.(Source Yahoo Health)You have said you have not been eating much for the past two weeks.
Whatever the problem is has been going on for two weeks. It is has to be effecting your hypoglycemia, you have taken an overdose of a non prescription medication which can't be good for your hypoglycemia and your response to me is to tell me how mature you are?
Get to the doctor before the ground comes up and smacks you in the face. This is what being an adult and acting like an adult is all about. Taking proper care of yourself and following your doctors instructions.
Hypoglycemia is low Blood Sugar. If your blood sugar was to get to low would you not black out? You drive a car. What would happen if you were to black out at the wheel. Would you have enough warning to stop your car or would you be the cause of an accident that hurts or possibly kills someone?
This is what I meant when I said you need to start acting like an adult. You need to start looking at the big picture not at just the part your in.
None of us are doctors and even if we were it is not possible to make a diagnoses over the web.
I'll put it to you this way: You have been suffering with something for two weeks. This is not good or normal. You need to see a doctor for whatever is bothering this will not go away on it's own. Not eating can and will cause other problems particularly to your hypoglycemia.
Depending on the strength of the Motrin you took; taking 6 tablets in a 24 hour period may be an overdose. Continued overdosing on this drug can and will cause liver problems.
Lastly; as a parent I will tell you that you should never hide an illness from us. Our primary responsibility to our children is their health, safety and welfare. When you hide something from us we cannot do what is expected of us and if something is serious enough we can be held legally responsible. The fact that we didn't know because you hid something from us is no excuse.
You are 16 years old, all most an adult. It is time you start acting like one. You say you are not pregnant so what other reason would you have to hide this illness from your parents.
You are also old enough to seek medical treatment on your own, with full medical confidentiality. Meaning that any medical exam, procedure, diagnoses or anything else sought from any medical practitioner is confidential. No doctor or medical practitioner can release your medical information to anyone, including your parents without your written permission. This is the law under an act called HIPPA. So I see no reason for you not to seek medical help. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]

I find Advil works better than Tylenol or Ibprofen. But do becarefull on how much you take. I would be talking to your parents about this,. because there is a chance that it could get more serious. It could be that your just not getting what your body needs,.
