all you have to do is ask to have a pad or tampon. i got mine when i was 13. im sure your mom wouldnt do much but get you what you need to take care of your self. your mom went through this too.

Congratulation sweetheart!
Do not be afraid to tell your mom because when it comes to this type of situation she is the only one you are going to want to run to at this age.
Do not be embarrassed!
I was also 14 when I started my period and I started during school and had to call my mom in the bathroom crying and she was the only one who really understood how I felt.

Don't be scared, she'll take care of everything until you are capable of doing it on your own! (:

Good luck sweetie(:

When I got my first period a few months ago (I'm 14 also)
I did not handle it well. I freaked out when I saw the blood and I said to my mom "um, I'm bleeding... from the front" and stared crying. Real smooth. After that, it wasn't really a big deal. My mom hasn't brought it up and I'm glad I got it over with. Just tell her. Trust me, my friend tried to keep it secret and it didn't end well. Your mom knows you will get it someday, and a period is just a sign of growing up and that everything is working properly in your body. Good luck, you'll be fine :)

Getting your period is a natural part of becoming a young women. Your mom is probably waiting for you to tell her so she can help you.

There is nothing to be embarrassed about. Getting your period is as I said a natural part of growing up as is the budding of your breasts. I'm sure mom was there to help you pick out a proper bra. Why would you not want her help in making sure you are properly caring for yourself with your period.

Your mom went through this when she was about your age. She knows the questions you may have and has the answers for them. The fact that she has not asked you about your period; she probably does not want to be intrusive feeling you will come to her when your first period arrives.

How do you tell your mom: You simply ask mom for some private time together, away from the rest of the family. Then you just say simply; "Mom, I think I just started my first period." "I have questions could you answer them for me?" I'm certain mom will take it from there.

As a parent we have a very complex job when it comes to raising our children. There are certain things required of us by law, though are responsibilities go far beyond what the law requires of us. A big part of our responsibility is helping our children grow into responsible adults. This means being there to answer question like these.

So go talk to your mom.

Dear "How to tell my mom i got my period ",

Why would you be afraid to tell your mom about this?

You should not be scared about talking to your mom about your period.

She needs to teach you how to use pads and tampons. She needs to go over the health risks involved with tampons and douching.

Go to her and ask her if you can talk to her in private. Then tell her that you got your period and you are nervous. Make sure you ask her how to protect your favorite underwear from accidents.

If you cannot talk to your mom for what ever reason, seek out an adult female and ask her the questions you have.

However, your mom, unless she is a complete failure as a mother, should have already explained this to you and is waiting for you to come to her with this subject.

If all else fails, you can find the answer to any question you have by searching on the net.

Good Luck!

Doktor Tammy
