I've been out of school for about a month, and since I've been home for the summer, I've hardly ever left the house. I go to bed around 1 or 2 AM and often don't get out of bed until 1 or 2 PM even if I wake up at 11 or 12. I feel useless and depressed since I don't have anything to do during the day, which is why I stay in bed after I'm awake. I don't want to start my day at 3PM anymore, but I don't know how to fix my sleep schedule so I can be up by at least 10. Has anyone experienced this kind of problem before who can offer solutions?
Look, you don't need to fix your sleeping habits if you are going to be a loner. And even then you can still find stuff to do. Don't just sit on the couch and watch tv and let your brain turn into Cheez-Whiz. Learn to play guitar or bass, read, start a blog or a website, workout at the gym, etc. [ VoiceofReason's advice column | Ask VoiceofReason A Question ]

What I did to fix the problem was as simple as going to bed earlier and waking up earlier. I know it's really tough at first, but it gets easier. Try reading a book to fall asleep and avoid the computer! The computer is usually the reason I'm up so late. Also, when you wake up in the morning, take a shower and eat breakfast, that will get you energized so you can be up by 10 and have a productive day! If this doesn't work, there are always sleeping pills which can help you get on the right schedule. I've taken them before and they will knock you right out and you will not wake up in the middle of the night :) [ MariahKacie's advice column | Ask MariahKacie A Question ]

If you go to bed around 1 or 2, That is the problem
Go to bed at 10:30 or 11, If you have been off a sleeping schedule for awhile then you will need too gradually work your way back to a normal sleeping pattern. I personally need no less than 9 hours of sleep, I go to bed around 12 and I wake up for 9 on the weekends. During the week, I wake up at 5am.
People with depression have a more harder time waking up and they often require more sleep. Stay away from any sort of greasy foods because it is found in many studies that greasy foods often put a drag on depression. Try and eat healthy and exercise. If you find your schedule to be boring during the day then try and take up some volunteer work somewhere. [ Xui's advice column | Ask Xui A Question ]
