In most places the Age of Consent is 16. Do you think that really stops people? Nope.
Having sex at such a young age in my opinion is completely irresponsible. I'm not religious but I do believe it should be done with someone you truly love and want to be with for the rest of your life.
In High School, you won't find that special person. If you do, I would wait until you are completely out of High School. For some reason, this society that we are in, relationships=sex. Don't feel you have to have sex to "fit in." People may ask if youve ever been "laid" or anything and you know what? I tell them it's none of their business what I do or don't do.
You don't say if you are a boy or a girl. But if you are a boy, if she becomes pregnant, will you stay and be the father? I've seen this happen to sooo many young men, they have sex, get the girl pregnant, say they'll stay with her, and then eventually they never stick around. A child deserves to have a mother and father. If you are a female, take into account what I just mentioned above and do you really want to become pregnant? It's painful, yes there are glorified parts but there are also painful parts. Like giving birth to this child. It's sad to say, us females get all the pain. Sex is a mature decision that should be made when YOU are 100% ready not when other people think you are ready. Perhaps I would wait a little longer [ Xui's advice column | Ask Xui A Question ]

At 15 your body is physically capable of having sex, be you male or female. The problem is at 15 you are not mature enough to fully understand the consequences of your actions. In most every state in the U.S. you have not even reached the age of consent; which brings in some legal issues we won't go into as they may or may not apply.
At 15 years of age you should be just starting High School. Your High school years are some of the best years of your life. Do you really want to saddle yourself with a child at this time; for that is the ultimate consequence of having sex.
There is not a birth control method that is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. There is no way to be 100% safe from an STD. These are two very good reasons for waiting until you are older and more capable of understanding and can take effective methods in the prevention of pregnancy and the contracting of STDs.
The fact that you have asked this question tells me you are not truly ready for sex. Don't let anyone force you to have sex before you are ready. Remember no means just that, NO. Anyone who doesn't respect that is not worth being with you. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]
