For a fifth grader i think sk8ter boi by Avril Lavigne would be a great one! It would be super cute to see a fifth grader sing it. It, to me, was between that and sweet escape, but sweet escape is just too serious for kids so go for the cuteness affect and wow them with a good easy dance number (youtube helps)

I too, would go with Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani,but its more about which is your favorite song, which one you think you sing the best, and if you want your friends to enjoy it, which songs they like. Perform a few for friends or family, see what they like. Good luck in the talent show, I'm sure you'll do great! ^-^
