I have money for 1 months rent and none for food the next month. I'm too depressed to get a job, and I've dropped out of all but two of my classes. I cant get food stamps unless im going to school less than half time. Should I drop one of the last 2 classes so I can get food stamps? Or just fail them? I've quit going to one all together and have bad grades in the other. I'm afraid to do it though because I'm going to school with financial aid, and am too depressed/anxious to take the bus to the main campus to figure out if it will put me in debt or not to drop the class. I don't have a phone anymore either and hate talking on the phone anyway.
seriously... what are you going to learn from this if you just give up now???
don't you want to work hard for something.. stop being such a lazy ass and DO SOMETHING. I've had a bad past, and if there's anything I learned from my experiences, it's that LIFE IS NOT EASY. You can't just get things your way. You can't just expect things to go your way. You need to work hard for the things you want. Blood sweat or tears. Hard work pays off. I learned that the hard way. And you know what? yeah i got frustrated and mad and wanted to quit, but i didn't. And now that I look back at it, I'm so glad I didn't quit. It taught me a good lesson that if you quit, you don't learn anything. But if you keep striving to work for your goals, hard work will pay off and you'll look at your past and say "i told you so i could do this".
Baby steps is the key.. You can't just expect to achieve your goals overnight. It takes a lot of hard work and time. Take baby steps. Start by going to a doctor for your depression. They might be able to perscribe you medicine to help. If not, they will definitally do whatever it takes to help. Try living a healthier lifestyle. EXERCISE!!! it really makes you feel energized. The first few times you exercize you'll feel lazy and tired, but if you don't do it now, it'll bite you in the ass later in life. Eat healthy. You don't have to be a health freak but at least drink lots of water and stop eating junk food so much. Go outside!! Its true that nature gives you an energy boost. Get enough sleep. 9-10 hours is perfect. Have a good sleeping pattern. Go to bed at like 10 or 11 pm and wake up around 8 or 9 am.
Then go out and find a job. Yeah i know what you're thinking. youre too lazy to get up and do something with your life. But think about it.. what the hell are you going to do 1 year from now..? you're going to be rotten stuck with no money and nothing to do but sit on your ass all day long and do absolutely nothing... get up and do something with your life!! hard work pays off
then start talking to your teachers. ask them for help. i don't care if you're too shy to talk to them or don't feel comfortable with it.. you're gonna have to do a lot of difficult things in life, this is easy compared to what will happen in the future. you might as well get used to it now.
look in the mirror and WAKE UP. stop waiting for something to happen. get off your ass and do something with your life.
oh and to answer your question.. NO you shouldn't drop out of college. what the hell are you going to do instead? Play video games?? good lucking getting a future out of that.. [ lovealways1221's advice column | Ask lovealways1221 A Question ]

Don't just drop out. See if your school offers a tuition refund for medical withdrawals. I've had to do this a few times when treatment has failed. If you can get a doctor's note saying you're in treatment and are unable to attend school, they may let you off the hook entirely. No failed classes on your record, tuition refunded. If the option is available to you, do whatever you can to take it.
In any case, you probably have an academic advisor. They'll be able to tell you what the best course of action is, and to put you in contact with financial aid to get you the information you need about your loans.
One foot in front of the other right now. Get up. Shower. Get dressed. Put on your headphones and sunglasses and get on the bus. Don't look at anyone, just fade into your own world. Left foot, right foot. I know it's hard to do, but force yourself to do one thing after another until it's all over with. You can take one step. After one, what's another? That's how you can get through these days.
Your school probably has a disability services department. I know that at my school, mental illness qualifies as a disability. You can qualify for extra bursaries, have lower course requirements for full times status and get special accommodations for writing tests and submitting assignments through them. It saved my butt one term. The only catch is that you have to be in treatment: you can't just rest on your laurels. It's not a hand-out. It's a hand-up until your treatment takes root and gets you up to full speed. [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]
