so, I'm 19, I met this guy online about a year ago, and we would always talk on facebook every now and then. we also video chatted twice so I know he's a real person lol.. he just recently gave me his number and now we are texting too. but now he is mentioning meeting up in person. problem: he lives 3 states over from me. I want to meet him. Every time he would message me on facebook I would get so happy...I know it's easier to say things to people online, but I feel like I can say anything to him...I can just be myself. which is something that's hard for me to usually do. I don't know how to make this work. He even told me eventually he'll move to my state after college. and jokes (but I guess is kinda serious) about marrying me one day...idk. I do like him. I just don't want to spend my money to get on a plane and be disappointed when I see him. Or really, really like him and then have to leave and not see him again for who knows how long. Plus I don't know how I would tell my parents about this. One of my friends who knows about him thinks I am absolutely crazy. So, what should I do? Should I go see him? I know he's not a psycho. I just wish he was closer. Is it worth it?
Punkett answered Saturday April 30 2011, 3:03 am: I don't think it's crazy to meet someone online and like them, because people do it all the time. Maybe you should see if he could come visit you, and if he can't because college, maybe once he gets a break from it he could. If you really want to meet him, I think it is worth spending money on a plane ticket, cause if you don't... you might miss out on a great guy. But if you do, you should see if someone could come with you. You never know, he could actually be a psycho. And the whole parent thing, I'm not sure what you could do, except explain to them. Just make sure to expect the unexpected... This is all just my opinion. Oh, by the way, to me it's a little weird he is talking about marriage, even as a joke... Hehe Hope I could help(:
