Missionary is the standard man-on-top position. The female will be lying flat on her back with the man between her legs and on top of her like so: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
CLN answered Friday April 1 2011, 1:43 pm: K some ov those are wrong.. missionary is anal sex.... to correct that doggy is when your bent over and so far on and cowgirl is when the girl is on top of the male..... [ CLN's advice column | Ask CLN A Question ]
Peeps answered Friday April 1 2011, 6:36 am: Correction to the information below!
Cowgirl is not when the woman is on top and the male is giving oral sex. Cowgirl is when the woman is on top "riding" the man's penis. The same goes with "reverse cowgirl" only the woman's butt is facing the man as she "rides." Not on the face!
Wikipedia actually has these explained a little more and has cartoon examples:
AskSinz answered Friday April 1 2011, 6:21 am: The missionary position is a "man-on-top" sex position usually described as the act in which the woman lies on her back and the partners face each other. Though often acted on and applied by heterosexual pairings, it may also be used by gay and lesbian couples.
Doggy is where the reciever is on all fours (like a dog) there arms are used to hold them up and there legs are used to help support them and stick there bum out (the position your in when your looking for something on the floor lol) and the person behind them can be kneeling or standing depending on which way is better for them to penetrate either through the anus or the vagina.
Cowgirl is where the girl rides the guys penis as if she were riding a horse. You can either sway your hips back and forth, side to side or just sit there grinding away.
