Trimming your hair helps to provide the illusion of longer hair, because it trims split ends off and makes your hair look more even and full at the ends.
I use a shampoo for long hair (Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship) as well as the conditioner and leave-in conditioner. They all help with preventing split ends and keeping hair from becoming damaged.
Basically, keep in good health. Take your vitamins, drink lots of water and exercise regularly. Healthy you means healthy hair. There's no magic pill or lotion for it.
corbettd1 answered Tuesday January 18 2011, 8:54 pm: You'll hear that cutting hair often causes it to grow quicker. (And for any pubescent young men out there hoping to grow facial hair better, no, shaving more frequently does not cause your hair to grow quicker) However, this is not the case. Hair grows because your cells divide and push keratin out of your follicles. This happens at varying rates for different people but is more or less the same. Ever wonder why people who go through chemo or radiation therapy lose their hair? The treatments used to stop certain cancers are treatments that kill cells that divide quickly (like cancerous cells), however, it kills all cells that divide quickly. Including, the ones that cause your hair to grow.
Where did this rumor come from? Mothers don't want to take their spotchy hair faced teen out to dinner looking so rag-tag. Tell your child their facial hair will grow in better the more they shave, and they'll shave until it doesn't look bad. The facial hair DOES seem to grow quicker over time and DOES seem to grow in better, but then again, puberty DOES seem to cause those same effects.
So, to recap briefly, I suggest you either discover the miracle grow which causes your cells pushing hair out of your head to grow quicker without being cancerous. Or grow patience. Sorry. [ corbettd1's advice column | Ask corbettd1 A Question ]
nightmare96 answered Tuesday January 18 2011, 6:47 pm: haha . this is something you can google :P but you'll find , if you ask someone with long hair they'll say " I trim it often " I use to have really long hair ,lower then my waist , and that is what I did , of course that could get pricy but you'll find it really works . Just get the dead ends out. Make sure to take good care of it . When taking a shower don't go to hot on your hair or too cold ,they both can be damaging. Also washing your hair EVERY day can be really bad for your hair too , some people might say bad hygiene but they're the ones who come out with bad hair in the end =S unless you are asian then that is different.
