people babysit at many different ages, especially other family members. i would ask your family if they'd feel comfortable letting you babysit, and then let them decide. if you're thinking of setting up a business, people often get CPR training certified to boost their credibility. i would check on the age limits for that. and if you're too young, try to work on babysitting family members until then, so you can market yourself as already having experience!

I started babysitting when i was about 14. This way you more grown up yourself and can take responsibililty for another kid.

By the state of Texas, where I live, you have to be at least 12 to stay home alone by yourself. To stay alone and take care of others at at least the age of 12, you must have a lot of experience, or wait until I'd say 14.

Definitely older than 10. If you can't take care of yourself, how can you take care of someone else?
And don't tell me you can take care of yourself - you're 10, so no you cannot.
