i have a new coach for my volleyball team and this year before season starts we have to run 2 miles in 16 minutes. I have never been a good runner, and i definetly have never run a 16 min 2 mile, or even an 8 minute mile....what should i do to get ready for this?!obviously run, but i just need some tips to get myself motivated.

If you run a little bit each day, like a half a mile each day one week and than a mile each day for the next week, you will begin to see results. keep a diary of your how far you ran and the time it took you to run it and I guarantee that by the time he needs you to run 2 miles in 16 minutes you will be ready, and even if you don't impress him, you will definitely be able to impress yourself with all of the hard work you did to reach your goal.
