I am on a diet and I exercise and eat healthy. I walk 2 miles a day and I do cardio once a day. I lost 23 pounds just doing that. Is that weird? Or is the 23 pounds water weight?
orphans answered Tuesday June 29 2010, 3:32 pm: well water weight would be gained through food and drink, and so if you have been drinking plenty of water and eating healthily, i doubt its water weight. Your goal should be to lose body fat, not just weight, which could be water, muscle, etc.
It takes about 3500 calories to equal one pound of fat. This means for every 3500 calories you eat above what you are burning off, you will gain one pound. Likewise, if you eat 3500 fewer calories than you burn, you will lose one pound. It will be easy for someone that is eating thousands of calories a day to lose a pound or so everyday, as its easier to cut out calories (as a %).
What im reading in articles, is that such a weight loss would be unsustainable, and the reccomendation is like, 2-3lbs a week. If you are worried, go to the doctor? hope i helped :) [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
