Sorry. I have to disagree with noname. People are the only species that copulate for pleasure. Animals do it from a pure instinct to make more of themselves. In other words, animals only have sex to procreate. It is an instinct they go on...not "thinking".

With so many pesticides and hormones we inject into animals things like this should be expected. Even if we aren't directly injecting or spraying a particular animal, chances are it will come in contact with an "altered" fruit, vegetable, or other animal it may consume.

There will always be the nature vs. nurture disagreement though.

If you reward someone (or, heck, an animal) for a particular behavior then they keep doing it.

A male dog climbs the back of another male dog. Things happen to dominate the lower dog in the pack. Things happens, it feels good, the upper dog continues it. Does it mean it's gay? Well, it's doubtful he looks at the other male dog and says, "WOW! That is a SEXY man dog right there!"

Animals don't think the way we do. They just don't. They don't view "sexy" like we do. They see a good prospective mate for more basic reasons like a peacocks showing off their tail feathers. They see something that feels good, tastes good, or is somehow rewarding to basic instincts.

Animals dominate each other when in packs. They have a social ranking in their tight-nit groups. They dominate each other in sexual manners like this but it doesn't mean they're actually sexually attracted to the same-gendered animals. Sometimes they will choose to continue to show their higher-ranking to another animal for reasons we don't understand--because WE are not animals. WE can only guess so much as for their socialization.

Animals like to get treats. They like to feel good. They have hormones that create sexual feelings to mate. Dogs even masturbate when there is no female around and those hormones build up. Now, if a dog finds out that "being" with another male dog relieves that sexual tension and makes them feel good then they don't know any better. They don't get sexually and emotionally attached to that other dog. They just say, "Wow, when I do that, it feels good!" They don't say, "I like other males dogs! I'll never look at a female the same!"

Now, we go feeding a caged lion pounds and pounds of beef and other animals we have injected with various hormones. Those hormones DO affect the lion that consumes it, just like they DO affect us. Proof? Well, the FDA is now deciding to reduce antibiotic injections in chickens because it's making US (humans; the consumers) become immune the antibiotics! Gasp.

Females stop smelling as appealing from the changes. They stop producing the right amounts of hormones and chemicals that are secreted to attract mates. Males have different levels of testosterone and estrogen from these changes. If the male never has reason to interact dominately toward the female then it it's possible he wouldn't ever know to breed with her meant a feel-good pleasure too. There's sooo many factors here.

So, we give this animal unnatural beef (or whatever meat) every time it feeds. We spray for pests around it's cage. We treat it's water with chlorine so it's clear. Should we expect that animal to be "natural" as God intended?

Razhie answered Tuesday June 29 2010, 4:13 pm:
Nope. He is absolutely right.
You can still disagree with homosexuality, but it is most definately NOT 'agianst nature'.

There is nothing subjective or 'opinion based' about the existence of homosexual animals. They exist. They are real. There are a lot of them. To say that humans being gay is ‘against nature’ is to say that african elephants, buffalo, caribou, cheetahs, dolphins, raccoons, bisons, gulls, penguins, bearded dragons and hundreds of other species are also acting 'against nature'.

Animals CAN'T act against nature.
And they aren’t sinning either. They are animals.
They are doing what comes naturally to them.
Homosexual behaviour is natural in the animal kingdom.

That is not a matter of opinion. It’s been observed millions of times, by countless scientists and observers since the ancient world. Animals have homosexual behaviour. That’s a fact.

If you think homosexuality is a sin or morally wrong, that’s fine. That’s your opinion and you are entitled to it. But to argue that homosexuality is 'against nature' is simply false. Nature is full of same-sex coupling, parenting and sex.

you'll find all different kinds of opinions
esp in this "anything goes" world of ours.

I go by the Book, as the bible is the word.

laying with another man if you're a man or another women if you're a women is an abomination

marriage between man and women is a gift.

Satan twists this around as he does everything
he perverts it

the saying goes: Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Whether or not you agree with homosexuality or not, homosexual behaviour among animals has been well documented. You might find this article interesting:

However, as it is so subjective, it is impossible to come to a final conclusion as to whether or not being gay is against the laws of nature.
