Multiple Lobe Piercings at once

Question Posted Monday June 14 2010, 5:34 am

I currently have one lobe piercing on each ear and would like to get two more lobe piercings on each ear. I was wondering if it was okay to get them done at the same time or if I needed to space out the piercings.

Just fyi, my first piercing was never infected and I hardly ever cleaned it.

Thanks :)

I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work to get them pierced at the same time. The level of pain might be different but seeing as they are simple lobe piercings, that shouldn't be much of a problem. Just make sure the piercing salon is reputable and uses fresh needles for each piercing!

I got my second and third lobe piercings done at once and was fine. Although I would say that after the first pair, it did get more painful.

When you are about to get a piercing, you build up adrenaline. The adrenaline helps to lessen the pain slightly, which means that the more you get in a row, the more painful they will become. Another problem is that your lobes will become very tender and sore from the first set, so the flesh being pierced will already be painful.

It won't do you alot of harm, especially as it's only the lobes but I wouldn't get any more done at the same time and you should be aware that they will be more painful.

Well, I got four piercings done at once, and i passed out. But i believe this was because they were piercing through scar tissue not cartilage. I guess in theory you could do 4 in the same day, but its going to put your body into a mild form of shock. Just because it SHOULDN'T hurt that bad doesn't mean it wont. Your body is registering that something is happening to it that shouldn't be happening.

Its all up to you, i would suggest researching the place your going to go to first though.

The most "new" piercings you should have at a time is 2. It's so that they heal properly. Even if the piercing doesn't get infected it does take your body a lot to heal up. It's a puncture wound, after all, even if it's small. It takes weeks to heal up right and for your body to get back to normal.

I would space them out to make sure everything goes right. You wouldn't want your immune system to get lowered because your body was fighting off infection or trying to heal 4 puncture wound holes at once. I hate dealing with colds and I bet you do too. A lowered immune system makes you vulnerable to illness.

It really isn't that long to wait in between ear piercings unless you're gauging them or something crazy anyway.

And you should be glad that your body fights off infection so quickly since you remarked about not having to clean your previous ear piercings. That means your body has fought off all the dirt and nasty debris that it has encountered on those wounds before you even knew they existed. Good job, immune system! ;)

I used to have 3, and they wanted me to wait until my second was healed before I got my third.

I think the concern is that it could get infected, and that would ruin the other piercing. Also, when you get one done, it makes your lobe swell up, which could mess with the placement of the next one.
