Hitoast answered Friday June 11 2010, 3:50 pm: Not everyone bleeds their first time. Everyone's vagina is different so not everyone bleeds. I didn't bleed my first time either. Don't worry about it, consider it a good thing :)

The bleeding is usually a result of the hymen (a thin layer of skin inside the entrance of the vagina) breaking. Often this happens during sex but it can also be caused by other things - most commonly tampons and masturbation but in some cases gymnastics and horse riding are also reported causes.
