Question Posted Saturday April 24 2010, 1:29 am

in you're opinion, do you think a person means it when they tell their gf/bf that they love them when they're drunk? Serious, honest answers, please, thank you!

This goes back & forth for me.

I usually go with the saying that drunk words speak a sober heart, BUT some people do say things that they don't mean when drunk.

The only way to honestly find out is to bring it up when you're both sober. Just say "Hey, while drunk the other night, you said you loved me. I just wanna know if you were being honest with me. If you weren't & were just saying things because you were drunk, that's fine, my feelings aren't hurt, I just wanted to be sure."

It can go a few ways..
Alcohol might be an excuse for some people, meaning, they need a bit of dutch courage to say it, because they're scared of the reaction they will get.
Others blab things they do mean, just not at the best times..
Then you get the people who don't really care what they say at that particular moment and just say things, without necessarily meaning it.

I think it's a load of bull when people say alcohol brings always brings out the truth in people. Sometimes it can..but it's not something you can 100% go by. I've had plenty of occasions with friends blabbing on about crap when intoxicated, lots of it not actually true.. I've probably done the same in the past, too, depending how much drink was involved!

So, it depends on the person etc.
Personally, if this happened to me, I'd bring it up when they're sober, ask if they remember saying it and if they meant it.

Alcohol usually speaks for itself depending on how drunk the person is. However, Alcohol also effects different people in different ways. Not everyone is a mean drunk, funny drunk again it all depends on the person and exactly how drunk they are.

Alcohol makes people not be in control of their actions and what their doing so no i don't think when a person is drunk and they tell their boyfriend or girlfriend they love them that they truely mean it(:
