Hyperventilation: Over breathing. This can cause dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, shortness of breath, a sense of unsteadiness, muscle spasms in the hands and feet, and tingling around the mouth and fingertips. All of these symptoms are the result of abnormally low levels of carbon dioxide in the blood caused by over breathing.
Hyperventilation is often due to anxiety or panic.
SecretDreamer95 answered Sunday February 21 2010, 11:53 pm: it can be caused by problems with your inner ear, your eyes or a mix up of nerve messages to your brain. It can also be triggered by other medical conditions, some minor, some serious, such as a drop in blood pressure or a heart condition. Sometimes your medication may cause it. If you frequently feel dizzy see your doctor for tests. How are your eating and sleeping habits? [ SecretDreamer95's advice column | Ask SecretDreamer95 A Question ]
