Keeping focus

Question Posted Tuesday February 2 2010, 3:44 pm

I have a really hard time keeping focused when I'm doing homework...I always end up on the computer doing whatever and then I'm cramming in homework late at night. Any method to keep focused??

Do your homework where you won't see the computer (put a blanket over it if you have to). If you like, you could have some snacks with you - so you'll focus more on eating than on your urge to go on the computer. Practice good restraint, and show yourself you can focus on more than facebook google and youtube ;) you can even have little rewards (for completing all of it, maybe even small ones for each piece you complete. I.E. finish maths, get a treat. finish history, get another treat). But if you keep this habit, it might not be good (unless you use fruits or veggies) so when you think you're ready, it might be a good idea to test youself without the treats (there's no treats in the real world) so get the focus, then lose the crutch (like riding a bike). You can do it! Good luck.

Do your homework in a place where there's less
distractions a room where there isn't the computer
or anything elese that would cause you to become less focused if you want to go onto the computer do
it before you start your homework that way you won't
be tempted to go on it just think if you don't do your work your grades will start to go down and you
won't get full credit for the work that should be enough motivation(:

Ohh god, i have the same problem. I ALWAYS end up on my computer either facebook or hulu or something way more fun than homework. When you sit down to do your homework, set a time. Say okay I have about an hours worth of homework so for this next hour I will not go on the internet... if you still can't keep focused try doing your homework in another room. i Know its hard because you probably want to do it at your desk but it really will keep you focused when you're computer isn't right there. Believe me.

Good luck, I hope I helped :)
