Being Christian and translating dreams..

Question Posted Tuesday January 19 2010, 10:33 am

I'm a Christian but I love translating my dreams. Do you think translating dreams would be against God's word or that he wouldn't like that?
Thanks :)

No not at all as long as it involves him, do you remember when Joseph got the coat of many colors from his father, then his brothers threw him into a pit and sold him, well he was released from prison and put as the kings dream interpreter, God made it so good things came from the dreams, hope I helped :)

No I don't think God would mind you translating your dreams at all - God comes to people in dreams and if translating dreams makes you happy, then why wouldn't God want you to be happy?
Dreams can be symbolic but sometimes they have no meaning at all. They can carry messages from your subconcious that need to get through to your concious. Also dreams are the way that your brain deals with problems and issues throughout life - so it can be a good thing to translate them :)

you're perfectly fine, if you want to translate your dreams.. go ahead :] its not going against anything considering God entered people's lives through dreams too.
There is nothing wrong with what you want to do, i interpret my dreams all of the time. a lot of people say they dont mean anything, but i beg a differ because alot of mine had meaning and/or came true [parts of it] do what you waant !
dream on.
xxo. :]

I am sure God wouldn't be angry with you for thinking about the meaning of your dreams. Didn't God come to people in their dreams, at least in the bible? Just don't take your dreams literally, because they are usually symbolic and sometimes completely random!

Good luck,

-Abby

There are examples of interpreting dreams in the bible... So, unless there is something particular in your sect of Christianity that looks down on dream interpretation, I can't imagine why there would be anything wrong with it.

However, most 'dream interpretation' stuff is bullshit. Dreams are just a collection of images based on the exercises our brain does at night. They are perfectly natural, and don’t have much meaning beyond “Hey! Look what my subconscious cooked up for me today!” It's cool to enjoy dream interpretation, but keep it to enjoyment okay? There is a lot of nonsense online, and taking it more seriously than that is just silly.
