belly button ring

Question Posted Saturday January 9 2010, 11:06 am

i just got my belly button pierced on wednesday and it didnt hurt at all. later that night it was a little sore. when i woke up the next morning i had the worst abdominal pains ever. its not infected but it is red and extremely sore but thats how it should be. its now saturday and my stomach pains keep getting worse and no matter what type of medicine i take it makes no difference. can anyone tell me how long my stomach is goin to hurt for? not my belly button my actual stomach.

I don't think an external piercing would actually infect you in such a manner. I have had my naval pierced for almost two years now and I never had that problem. Mine actually did get infected after getting it pierced because I was allergic to the metal the ring was made of but it did not cause internal stomach pains.

The pain is probably not actually related to the piercing itself. I recommend going to a doctor just in case there is something wrong.

Go to a doctor. Belly button piercings have been known to, if infected, not only infect the skin around your belly button, but also infect your stomach.

That's not normal. Getting your belly button pierced shouldn't cause internal stomach pains. I am not convinced it has something to do with you getting a piercing at all. It may be something else.

Regardless you need to get to the doctor as soon as you can. It could be serious.
