Leg Pain (Muscles)

Question Posted Tuesday December 29 2009, 7:46 pm

Hi.
My husband's legs hurt him a lot. They feel like they are on fire most of the time. When I massage them the muscles feel like sand almost. We've been trying to figure out what it is without having to go to the doctor.

Any ideas?

He needs to see a doctor. Burning pain in the legs could be a sign of sensory nerve damage. Its especially important if he is diabetic. Its not my intention to scare you, but it could also be a sign of multiple sclerosis.

Only a doctor can let you know for certain if this is a medical problem. It is something that he needs to have checked out soon. It may be nothing, but don't take that chance. You'll both feel better if a doctor tells you that.

It could be nothing more than extremely overworked legs. Does he workout? Or...it could be due to one of a multitude of problems that affect the legs. If his condition doesn't improve soon, I wouldn't hesitate to see a doctor to rule out anything serious.

What you want to do its to try and massage his legs using ice. Ice can cool off that "fire" and numb his legs from the pain. A lot of rest is also needed. He probably over-worked himself.

If none of that works, you should really consider a doctor. You're husband might have something very important to tend to.

Let me know how things work out :)
