you ate TOO little.

A year ago I was in your shoes and did the exact same thing. Ate almost nothing to lose weight, despite being well aware of the consequences. It ended TERRIBLY. But leanring first-hand stopped me from making that mistake again.

What's going to happen is either you reach your goal weight and eat more and more each day to maintain it, or you develop the typical 'anorexic' idea that you need to lose more and more weight.

The latter will either killyou or leave you in the hospital from starvation. Your body just can't function without necessary nutrients/vitamins/food. It needs energy to run on. When it runs out of fat to burn, it begins to derive energy by breaking down muscle tissue. So yes, you will be skinnier. But at what cost? Your heart is a MUSCLE. Your brain is a muscle. Do you really want that to deteriorate? It's not like you get to choose.

As for the former...You're just going to gain the weight back as soon as you start eating more. Why? When you eat less meals per day, your metabolism slows because your body realizes it's getting less food; it burns the food slower in order to keep your body running properly. So when you start eating more, it takes FOREVER for it to readjust; it still burns the food SLOWLY desptie the fact that you're eating more, and you put on a shitload of weight. I did this. I lost 5 pounds, was ecstatic...and gained 10 pounds when I started to eat normally.

What you should be doing is eating normally but being more ACTIVE. ths is really the best way to lose weight. activity brings up your metabolism without harming your body because we burn calories when active.
it's best to exercise in the morning, before you eat. you burn energy that hasn't been burned overnight.
also, people should eat small meals frequently, bnot the typical breakfast-lunch-dinner thing in which you eat a LOT. eating frequently makes the body burn the food quickly because it knows it's getting more energy soon from the next meal. and stay away from fast food and sweets (you can treat yoursel foccasionally, but don't overdo it).

summary: eat small, healthy meals more often; excercise often. you'll not only be thinner but in BETTER shape.

As the answer below said, what you are doing to yourself is very dangerous.

Apart from everything mentioned below, starvation style diets digest your muscle mass first, which destroys your metabolism. The last thing you want to lose is your lean muscle.

Then there are the countless other health issues.

But enough about that. The important part of this question is what you should be doing.

You need to eat regular meals. Forget about gaining weight for now, this is far more important, we are talking about your future life here. If you find that you are unable to do this, talk to someone who can get you some help. I am not kidding here, this can really cause serious damage.

I can give you advice on what to eat, on how to get yourself back on track with meals & exercise, but for now its just important that you start eating regularly.

Its ok to eat more cereal, you should also supplement that with vegetables or fruit. You need a good fat source as well (I do mean "need"). There are better and worse fats, and those from fish, nuts, good quality oils (e.g. olive oil, canola), olives, etc are neccessary for our health. Make sure you eat some today in some context or another.

More protein is also ok and if you have vitamin pills in the house take one with your next meal.

This is enough to get you started. Again, if you find that you are unable to go back to a normal eating plan, please talk to someone.

Good luck.

Not eating is the worst thing that you can do for your body. Your body requires fuel to survive. Your body, when refused the fuel, will start saving everything it has to keep the functions of your body working correctly. If it continues to not get fuel, it will start eating the reserves of the fat you have. Everybody has to have fat. It protects the bone structures and vital organs. If it runs out of the fat, your body will start using anything it has to fuel the body. It will keep doing it until your body cannot function anymore. This is why people can die from anorexia. Your body has literally run out of fuel and will start eating itself.

Bottom line, you must eat. YOU MUST EAT. You may not like it, but your body requires it. You cannot stop the way your body runs.

Good news, there are things you can eat that will keep you healthy. To be healthy, you need to keep the proper body fat ratio. A professional will tell you. Don't go by what is on the scale Pounds don't mean anything if you don't know your body fat index. It is specific for your age and height. Once you have a goal body fat index, you can work for it.

The goal should be to be healthy. Being skinny is not ideal because there are plenty of people who are skinny who are not healthy.

Eating a balance of foods will keep your body functioning. If you are wanting to lose some weight, you have to burn more calories than you are consuming. That is the "secret" that all diets forget. It doesn't matter what you cut out or only eat. It doesn't matter what you refrain from. Crash diets work but they don't last. Consistent fat loss and healthy lifestyles are just that...lifestyles.

The thing is to eat the proper servings but don't feel full. Your body needs to burn what it consumes and store away only what it needs.

You will need a lot of fiber as it helps the body flush out everything. Whole grains are perfect for this. So are many fruits and veggies. Certain meats are good for you. Pork products are not healthy and cause a lot of health problems. All white meat chicken is decent for you. Red meat will bulk you up and is not very healthy either. Grilled meat is probably the best way to go.

The key is moderation. Too much of any one thing can be bad for you.

Caffeinated products are not healthy because they provide the body a stimulant and you retain water as well as empty calories.

Moderation is the key.

According to the list above, you have eaten an unbalanced diet. More brown rice or grain should be consumed. Fiber one is a good breakfast, but put some banana or freshstrawberries on top.

Eat some green vegetables or carrots with your meat and stay away from the coffee.

Remember, remember, to drink a LOT of water. Above all things, your body needs water to hydrate. It doesn't matter if you eat healthy, if your body is dehydrated, your organs will not function correctly.

Please do not go without eating. It is THE WORST thing you can do for your body.

I hope everything goes well for you and I hope this helps!

-Charlotte
