I would really like to move but I don't want to leave everything behind.

Question Posted Monday November 30 2009, 1:40 am

I live with my mother. I'll only be in high school one more year, but I'm wondering if I should spend it and this remaining year living with my father nine hours away by car. If I moved, I would be able to live in a nice house, where I would be taken care of well, and I could attend an art-focused school. These are my reasons for wanting to leave. But if I do move, I would have to leave all of my friends, abandon all the relationships I've made with them and teachers, and leave all the clubs I've joined. I know I'm going to have to leave them all soon anyways but it doesn't make it any easier, especially if I have to leave my boyfriend. I wonder if it's too late for me to leave or too soon. I should also mention the art college I hope to attend is where my father lives, so if I did leave I wouldn't have to leave again.

well you need to weigh up the pros and cons.make a list of what your going to miss and what your going to gain. you can always make new friends and with your boyfriend thats a hard choice.but youll be with your dad and your going to a school that will help greatly in your future.
i think you already know what you want to do its just the moving thats the hard part.your too afraid to move because your scared you might regret your decision.just be strong and live with no regrets that way youll find it easier to know what you want.

This isn't a question that anyone on this site can answer for you. This question has to be answered from yourself. No one can tell you the right decision because no one knows your lifestyles.

It's truly your decision. If you feel like you would have a better life and enviroment with your father, then I encourage you to move with him. If it will be the same lifestyle as your mothers, than I would stick it out with your mother until it's time to go to school where your father lives.

Just think, if you move now then you would see your mother a lot less in the next few years. If you wait it out, then you can spend a lot of time with her between now and then and also spend time with your father when you do move by him.
