Because Christ was not born on Decemeber 25, this seemed like a holy day to make it, he was really born in the summer/spring time. But they do not care about faith or spiritualism they only care about items, its just like easter, people through in presents and candy and take the origanalism out of the holiday for chirst (trinity)

Christmas, I'm guessing, is celebrated by non Christians because of its spirit. For example, people act much nicer, right? They buy presents, sing, dance, and have parties. I guess non Christians just want to be able to celebrate that too. Every person has a thirst for joy and happiness but the only way we can quench it is through God. Some people have not realized it yet. So whether or not we are Christians, Christmas is celebrated because of the kindness and their thirst for joy and happiness.

Without becoming long winded, it's because society has become less about humanity and more about materialism.

More and more these days, Christmas has become less spiritual and more secular. For example, when most children think about Christmas, they think less about Jesus and more about Santa. The idea of presents, which originated from the gifts that the 3 Wise Men gave Jesus, has consumed the holiday and turned it into a consumerist holiday.

Christmas has almost turned into an American holiday, in that it is a federal day off. Also, Christmas customs can be fun. There is something very festive about decorating a tree with multi colored lights, or caroling, and of course, presents.

Stores glorify Christmas because it is a major source of income- think about Black Friday.

It's one of the few times in the year people are off from work or school and can spend time with there family. Nobody celebrates Christmas as really being the birth of Christ anyway. It's usually the time of the year when everything goes on sale at the stores, so people rush to get things for themselves or others.

This is actually a very good question.. But I counter your question with one of my own. Why do non satanists celebrate hallowean? It all tends to be a very big blur I think, But I'll wish you luck in finding a good answer out there. : )
