Whenever my boyfriend wants to kiss me, he ALWAYS keeps glancing over at me. This is like, the universal sign of "I want to kiss you". He'll look at you, he'll have a serious expression, and he might even glance at your lips a few times.
Other than that, he might make jokes about it. Like, the other day when I was sitting on the couch with my boyfriend, we were texting hearts and smiley faces to each other, and he randomly texted me "Kiss me?" :)
Also, he'll try to move closer to you. Like, physically, he will move himself closer to you.

if its at the end of a date and you think he wants to kiss you but hasnt worked up the courage, he may stall. ie if its in the car or at the door, whatever hes talking about he might find any excuse not to let you go you yet. also, if hes quieter than usual hes probably thinking about it and his mind is racing.
another surefire way to know is if he licks his lips. that means hes definitely thinking about it. or if he looks at your lips.
also, body language can say alot. if his shoulders are angled towards you this is a good sign. if yall are sitting and he keeps moving around to get closer, especially to your face, he probably wants to.

Guys arn't exactly gracefull, so just as you don't know when a guy is going to kiss you a guy doesn't usually know when to kiss you either.
Some guys try moving a strand of hair then leaning in. Or the more common aproach, gazing into your eyes till you don't relize your both being pulled closer by some unknown connection, then he kisses you or vise versa. Some just wrap their arms around you.
Guys with less experience find awkard moments and try to, or if they really don't know what to do they just look into your eyes like they're waiting for your permision.
Sum it all up its complicated but most girls after a few kisses are aware of it.

Well there are some guys who are upfront and ask if they can kiss you. The other signs are if he touches your face with his hand...especially if he holds his hand there. One big thing is that he may go closer to your face or even lean in which is a BIG clue!
