If you take in more each day, than you burn up, you'll gain weight. Bread is a good start, but your body may miss the calories that the bread provided. Cross Country Skiing and ab ab work out each day will definitly help. Be consistent, don't give up. Work out at least 5 times a week. Eat healthy. You may even be allergic to wheat products like bread and they make your stomach bloat. I developed an alergy to wheat late in life so anything is possible.
Good luck to you and keep up the good work.
