what are the best vegetables to grow in your garden at home?
Question Posted Friday October 2 2009, 12:37 am
I didn't make a garden at home this year but next year I plan to do that because I want some nice, tasty home-grown vegetables for salads and stuff. Anyway, what are easy vegetables to grow at home? I want to go on and make a list so I don't have to worry about it next year. I have enough space to plant whatever vegetables but I don't want to try anything that is complicated or needs a lot of maintenance since I'm just getting into this.
The best thing to start with is tomatoes. They're relatively easy and don't require a lot of maintenance. Most of the time when people come into the place I work at and ask about starting a vegetable garden, we recommend starting with tomatoes.
Another thing you can try is herbs. They require minimum space and even less effort. :)
Good luck and let me know if you need any more help!

The sicks were like a raten curtain that tied together with wire or rope at the seam. He placed soil compost straw soil compost straw 3/4 filled the circle put in 8 potatoes and cover again with another layer soil compost straw. When the potatoes are ready the plant will die back completly cut the ties the garden will fall down you can easily collect your spuds. I like the idea of growing tomatoes upside down in a PVC pipe you suspend the pipe in a sunny location but the tomatoes don't touch the grownd and rot. Usually growing vegetables works best in the Spring. I love to grow herbs, but out of vegetables tomatoes are defiantly the easiest and most delicious. Also I love green and yellow wax beans. I planted squash last year but planted 3 plants, when I really only needed one...I was SOO sick of squash by the end of the summer same with zucchini. Carrots are also easy to grow, but just don't step on the land near the seeds or otherwise you'll have fat stubby carrots instead of fat long carrots. Romaine lettuce is also fairly easy to grow, and taste great in salads. Strawberries are fairly simple as well, but for the first year take the first flowers off. It helps the plant. The plant grows runners later on. Wishing you the best of luck. (sorry this is choppy)
