The best way to decrease your chance of pregnancy is to use birth control pills (and take them at the same time every day), spermidical condoms (not the extra-thin kind), have the guy pull out when he comes, and take Plan B if you miss a pill. However, it's obviously still not 100%. [ xokristabelle's advice column | Ask xokristabelle A Question ]

My suggestion would be to use the shot and condoms, based on personal experience.
The shot has a higher prevention rate(97-99.7% vs. 92-99.7%) , since it's much easier to use. Just once, and you forget about it for three months. The pill is kind of temperamental that way... if you forget to take it, or take it at the wrong time, or if you throw up, things are messed up. Also, the shot keeps you from having periods, which is pretty fantastic in my book!
Condoms on their own have an 85-98% success rate. This is because so much can go wrong with them on their own.
Thing is, when using both methods, there is a very, very slim chance of getting pregnant. Like, maybe ).01% chance. Both methods would have to fail at exactly the same time. [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]
