Im not sure how old you are, but if you are old enough and allowed to date than you have nothing to worry about. You need to sit down with your parents and tell them the truth, they will support you no matter what, but it might take some time for them to get used to the idea of your sexuality. Just stay true to who you are, and most of all delete your texts for now on haha! Dont blame your friend, in the end it will be better this way and easier too. It probably would have been alot more akward for you to tell your parents yourself.
Good luck!!!
Everything will be okay, dont worry! Im here if you want to talk :-)

Second, tell your parents how it is. Unlike the comment below mine that said "fuck your parents", you should give them a chance to understand, so sit down and have a talk with them. Tell them they aren't able to control who you like or fall in love with, so either they accept it or they don't, it won't matter cause either way it's gonna happen.
Third, calm down. You need to handle this maturely, not like a five year old. If your parents see you're acting mature about this, they might be a little more accepting to what you have to say rather than if they see a temper tantrum. Think it through logically and then talk to your parents.
itdependsonyoux3 answered Thursday August 20 2009, 10:07 am: First off, take a few deep breaths.
Calm down, if you trick your mind into thinking this isn't a big deal, then it won't be. You just need to CALM DOWN. okay ? haha. Trust me, everyone hides things from their parents. I remember when I hid the fact that I was going out with my boyfriend for maybe like a week or so, I just didnt know how to say it, because like.. it's so much easier sometimes without people knowing, and since im their daughter, it's a sign that I'm growing up yuh know ? But in the end, I told them. and that's what you should do. Yes, they already know that you have a girlfriend now, but they found out the wrong way. Put yourself in their shoes, if you were reading your daughters texts and saw one that was talking about her and her girlfriend, would you be upset ? You don't know their reasons for being upset until you talk to them. They might be hurt that you didn't trust them with this or that you didn't think they'd be understanding. They may surprise you and be completly fine with it. You're only young once, they should know that.
All you need to do is regain your composure and TALK to them. communication is key. It doesn't matter if you're lesbian, gay, straight, bi .. you are their daughter and that will NEVER change. Just because you are dating a girl can't change that fact, and they MIGHT not be very open to it at first, but after a while, I'm sure they'll come around. It's better not to hide things from your parents, it just ends badly haha when they find out on their own, that is.
and also, it's not your friend's fault, unless you specifically told him NOT to text you about you and your girlfirend because you didn't want your parents to accidentally see it.
but anyways, maybe also talk to your girlfriends parents ? sit them down and ask them if they'd be willing to talk to your parents about it. Having anohter pair of adults talking to your parents could help, but right now, you need to talk to them yourself, and then if things go well, introduce your girlfriend to them.
good luck ! don't sweat it so much. hope i helped, if you need anything else feel free to inbox me, xxo. [ itdependsonyoux3's advice column | Ask itdependsonyoux3 A Question ]
sia answered Thursday August 20 2009, 9:33 am: alright just breathe..becoming a homosexual is parent's worest nightmare. i dont even know if parents will ever accept something like that..its really dumb i know and just so you know you have all my support its not fair for you.if you love this girl then all i can see you doing is lying to your parents.
id teel your parents that you broke up with her and because you wanted them to be happy make sure that they know that it really hurt you like do some crying and maybe even become depressed around the house so they understand what theyr doing to you.
try and see her behind their backs untill your old enough to make your own decisions thats when you can sring the bomb shell on them and either they can accept ti or they can loose you.
or
you can tell them the truth tell them how you feel about her and how much you want to be with her..i dont know if your parents are that understanding but just pour your heart out to them and hope for the best.
they should understand that soemthing like this will ruin the relationship you have with them.

christina answered Thursday August 20 2009, 6:20 am: I think you should've been honest with your parents about your sexuality from the get go. If you know that you're curious about girls, or are a complete lesbian, then why didn't you just come out & say so? Hiding things from your parents only makes it worse when they find out the hard way & really makes the whole situation that much more difficult & un-enjoyable.
I think your best bet right now is just to come out & tell them. I know they already know, but telling them & explaining why you hid it would be a good start to them maybe accepting you. I'm sure they will accept you but please understand that it'll take them time and it will not be something they'll get over so quickly. If they do not accept you, that is something you need to take up with them on your own. I do not suggest you hide it because it'll only make it worse.
You also need to be sure to delete your texts more often if you know there's a chance your parents will read them. I don't live with my parents & they've never gone through my cell phone but I usually delete my texts anyways.
And to be completely honest, this is something you really cannot blame on your friend. It is out of his control that your father saw your phone. He didn't send you the text thinking your parents would see it. You cannot say you hate him or that he is to blame because he is not a psychic & did not know that this would happen. To blame him would be completely immature & rude of you.
HotSauce answered Thursday August 20 2009, 5:20 am: fuck your parents. If they can't except you for who you are... Do it behind there backs. I don't understand why parents can't except there children for whom they are.. You should tell your parents straight up if they can't except you for who you are, they don't really love you. Because I believe they wouldn't...
It's just a theory.. I'm bisexual, my mother could careless. We're all human, and there is nothing wrong with being a lesbian, especially in this day and age!
Just sit and explain to them, this is who you are.. If they think it's a phase, tell them good let me live this phase if I come out of it so be it, and if I don't you'll just have to live with it..
