Dear How should I stretch right?,

I used to stretch before every run, and it blew my knees out, collapsed my arches, gave me a permanent patella femoral disability.

Check out that site. There are studies out there that show how stretching can actually be the cause of issues just like yours.

Educate yourself. The internet is a vast source of information.

Good Luck!!

You should speak directly to your instructor about this concern. They should know why your leg acts in this manner and if you injured it etc.

While the poster below means well he/she should not talk about surgical procedure or mention that you might need it when they aren't a doctor nor have they seen it. That's a BIG rule around here.

Just go up to your Sensei and mention to them if they think there's anything wrong with your right leg as opposed to your left. They understand anatomy and exactly what you're concerned over. They can actually eyeball it where we can't.

Also, I'm concerned about this belt test business. How often are they doing that? If it's every few months and very frequent than theyre only out to grab cash from you for the next level and give you a belt that doesn't mean anything if you went to another dojo.

You might be surprised at who can kick your ass as a result. Belts should come every year and a bit or based on individual progress. They shouldn't be easy to get.

The other thing with taekwondo is that your kicks and punches aren't as powerful as kickboxing, MMA or karate. National Georgraphic measured this on TV. The taekwondo people consistently didn't know how to spar properly or win a street fight. I'm just pointing this out to you so you can be sure you're studying the right method of self-defense to make you secure.

The answer to your question is to talk to your instructor and then see a doctor if at all needed.

Has your leg always been like this? Sometimes it's a thing that happens at birth and the only way to fix it is surgery. I have a friend she has a curved spine and one side of her body is longer then the other and the only way for her to fix this is surgery. Talk with your doctor and see what he/she says. If you are young there's a chance that it wont be that hard of a thing to fix. good luck..
