do cats actually believe we're their mothers/other cats?
Question Posted Thursday July 23 2009, 12:29 am
I'm not sure if cats are naturally friendly with humans, or is it that they just believe we're other cats as well? Possibly their foster mother? (I have a cat who was a foster mother to one of my kittens who is now grown.)
I once read in a book saying they believed we were just bigger odd-looking cats. I found that interesting, because my kitten treats me as if I were his mother. He comes to me for comfort and puts his paw on my face when I hold him (:

i guess we'll never really know what they think of us. [ ellemarsh's advice column | Ask ellemarsh A Question ]

My cats follow me around; they just get attached to us naturally.
