E ating Disorder ?

Question Posted Thursday June 18 2009, 6:54 pm

Hi I really think I have a problem. I dont like eating..... I think it's because I'm afraid of gaining weight. Sometimes I force myself not to eat but my mom makes me eat. I mean i dont want to be anorexic or anything but I just want to eat less. I have like no portion control what so ever. It sucks!
Please give me some advice? :)

A lot of people don't like eating.
Some of my friends don't like to eat.
They describe it as an annoyance.
Perhaps this is what you're thinking?
Anyway, just because it can be annoying, you should eat at LEAST 2 good meals a day. (That's what my friends do ;])
Just eat healthy.
And don't go a long time without eating then gorge yourself.
It's actually better to eat frequent, small meals.
You can't get over weight with one meal, so don't worry about it.
Eat right, and stay active through out the day. You'll be fine ;]
Hope that helped.
Good luck honey!

Be careful the not wanting to eat thing can cause a lot of problems. First off not eating is classified as an eating disorder. ask your doctor about this if your not doing this on purpose. try hard to eat no one wants to see you waist away its not healthy.

Don't, and I mean it, don't starve yourself. Anorexia isn't being excessively skinny, it's actually the act of not eating. You will become unhealthily skinny.

If you want to keep in shape here are some tips:

Eat healthy food

Count your calories(when possible)

Work out(nothing big just a few hours of push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, squats, etc. a week)

Get an Iron Gym or an Iron Gym Extreme from your local sports warehouse. They're easy to assemble and you hang it in your doorway for pull-ups. You can also set it on the floor for dips.

I hope this helps. If you need any more tips just ask me.

as young women we naturally have a ideal weight that we want to be,howeverdepriving yourself of food is not healthy for your body.you should focus on working on a healthier you instead of your weight...it can put alot of stress on you.if you feel that you should lose a few pounds be sure to make a reasonable goal according to your height and weight. As our bodies mature over time we should gain weight...so dont freak about it.just embrace yourself and your bodies...acually not eating makes you gain weight.when we dont eatdont eat our body stores allthe fat that we already have in our bodies.yes, eventually you will become incredibly thin.so try be happy with yourself CONTACT MEIF YOU HAVE ANY MORE PROBLEMS<3

Make an appointment with your doctor and share your concerns. Also make an appointment with a nutritionist, which your doctor should be able to set up for you.

Follow the doctor and nutritionist's food plan for you. A healthy diet should prevent you from getting fat, and also prevent you from becoming malnuourished.

Some things to consider: Not getting enough fats in your diet can lead to dry, cracking skin. Not enough calcium will make you a hunchback when you're older. Not getting enough vitamin C will result in lots of colds and a terrible immune system.

Also, if you don't give your body calories to work with, it starts feeding off itself. And it doesn't eat away at the fat (like it would if you were eating), it eats away at the muscle because it gives more energy and its starving. This will result in flappy skin.

You might want to take a break from magazines, or any other media that might distort your views of how you should look.

This may be a bigger problem than you think. I suffered from what the doctors diagnosed as Anorexia, and I got that diagnosis when I was in the 5th grade - 10 years old.

Being afraid to gain weight is a problem. If you just don't want to be fat, well then you're an average teenager.

If you're so scared of gaining weight that you exercise constantly, skip meals, lie about having already eaten, weigh yourself constantly, look in the mirror every chance you get, etc... then you really need to talk to someone & get help.

Anorexia is very dangerous. It kills. It is a murderous disease to have. Anyone can be anorexic - girls, boys, adults, children, teens, etc. Sure, it's mostly teenage - twenty-ish girls, but ANYONE can have it.

Talk to a counselor, your regular physician, etc. Someone will be able to lead you to find out whether it's a serious problem or just some teenage angst.

If you have any questions about ED's, especially Anorexia, let me know. It took me two years before I was considered healthy/recovered, but that's just from when my parents realized what was happening. I went to various psychiatrists - some who terrified me and should have never chosen a profession with children, and one psychiatrist who I wanted to get better just to make her happy...

I've been through tons of ups and downs with my ED, so seriously, let me know if you have any questions about it.
