Can I get an std?

Question Posted Tuesday June 9 2009, 9:47 pm

If both me and my boyfriend have never been sexually active(which is a known fact) can either of us contract an STD if we don't use a condom? Also I'm on the pill. For the birth control bit.

Zero Chance.

If neither of you has ever had sexual contact with anyone else, short of some kind of Miracle of Satan, no, it can't happen.

You can find it in any pharmacy area, near the condoms. Its just a nice extra bit of mental security.

Chances are really slim of getting an STD if you both don't have a sexual past besides each other. As said by others, if the STD was from birth, then that could be passed, but it's slim.

Still, it's free to get tested at your local Planned Parenthood clinic. Nothing wrong with being safe and taking a test just to erase any chance of worries.

STD could also be in the body from birth if the parents have it. Have you guys gotten tested? Either way, there's always a risk without condoms if your not 100% sure. fyi, the pill is not 100%, nor are condoms.

Yes. It is possible to contract an STD. STD's don't ALWAYS happen with sex. Some people can be born with STD's from passing through the birth canal. Also, if either one of you have cold sores in your mouth, that is called herpes simplex type 1. Once you have this virus, it will always stay with you. Just to be safe, both of you should go to your local clinic and get checked for any/all STD's.
