stop smoking pot

Question Posted Monday May 4 2009, 4:27 pm

my boyfriend is expelled from school. Hes now on probation too. Hes still smoking pot and i cant get him to stop. I sound hypocritical because i do it too but im not kicked out of school and in a bunch of shit. How can i convince him to stop while hes on probation? Hes ALWAYS around it and i cant do anything about that because he lives with people who do it and are okay with it.

I have been in your boat several times. You won't get them to stop. and when they say they do, they don't. Then that brings in a whole bunch of problems because he will start lying to you and going behind your back...
He can still pass his drug tests for probation though. My 2 guy friends are on probation and smoke at least 4 or 5 times a week and have no problem passing. they just drink lots of water a few days before to clean out their systems. hasn't failed.. yet. but good luck to him

Do you see yourself with this guy for a long time? Do you have anything in common besides the drugs? I'll be blunt he seems to be on the long road to nowhere and not smartening up.

He's in trouble with the law, always around drugs and people on them and has gotten himself an expelled. He's not going to get any better anytime soon. This is his life which is sad and how he intends to live until he really gets a wakeup call by learning the hard way.

You on the other hand have a lot going for you that drugs and other behavior can easily destroy. You've seen the light and NEED to move on if he can't stop and be firm and do it. You also need to find NEW friends who aren't using drugs to succeed in permanently beating it.

I would tell your parents the truth no matter how hard it is and ask them to help find you assistance and keep you on the right track. They can get you counselling and perhaps get you into groups with other teens with drug problems so you can get allies there.

The choice seems obvious avoid him and the people he associates with if he has no desire to kick the habit and fix his life. That's the reality and the big picture. To quit drugs you need to be away from them and people doing them.

I think you both need to stop.. Life is not get any better if you guys do that stuff. i mean your hurting your family and friends and people care about you. even people don't know you care about you. why tell him if he want make life better and things better stop doing pot. it not help kids grow and make world better place. thoes things are history. why keep history with us? think about it. tell him you want to stop and not want be around him if he doing it. move on something new and ther alot greater things out then then doing pot and thing that just waste of time and not worth it. think of things you can do just mak it happend and stop doing things to hurt others. if you don't like peopel hurting you don't hurt them..
