if that doesnt work then go to a group session and talk to some1 about it, if not your parents.

24chika24 answered Saturday April 18 2009, 7:25 pm: Like the person below me said, forcing yourself to throw up is never good for you, so now is the time to stop. Saying that you are going to stop is no good unless you stick to it. It's all about your mental strength. Think things through and think about how much this is making you worry. You dont want to go through your life with bulimia, so stop now before it gets worse.
No for what you were saying about feeling bad for eating bad food after you exercise and feeling like you failed yourself. I exercise a lot, and used to feel bad if i ate a lot after too. It feels like you wasted all the effort, but the truth is that you didnt. Normally, a person burns approx. 1,500 calories a day doing NOTHING. So naturally, a person can eat that many calories and not exercise, and stay the same weight. Let's say you run for an hour and burn 500 calories. If you eat an extra 500 calories, then you will stay they same weight.
So go ahead and eat that piece of cake or bag of chips... just balance it out with exercise and you will be totally fine, stop worrying so much =). Once you stop worrying, there will be no need for making yourself throw up. Hope I helped =) [ 24chika24's advice column | Ask 24chika24 A Question ]
Melody answered Saturday April 18 2009, 7:09 pm: Forcing yourself to throw up is never good for you, however if you have only done it three times you should be okay..if you stop now.
The way you think is not healthy, and it is best to talk about these feelings with someone. A guidance councelor, therapist, parent,.. someone.
Continue doing this, and you are in trouble. There are many short and long term effects of bulimia, and none of them are good.
Some of the short term effects include teeth erosion and decay from your stomach acids. Did you know that most severe bulimics have to have their teeth capped at some point in their life? You may say you are not a severe bulimic, but if you keep down the path you are on now, one day you will be. Vomiting also causes an electrolyte imbalance which depletes your body of potassium. At first this may just cause muscle spasms and weakness, but later in life it can cause heart attacks.
At some point you may also have tears in your esophagus or experience stomach ulcers.
Some of your organs that you are putting at risk include your heart, kidney, brain, digestive system, bones, skin and endocrine glands.
Your menstruation cycle also gets messed up. If you continue this, you may never be able to conceive a baby. This may not seem like a big deal to you now, but when you are an adult ready to start a family, this will be a huge deal. [ Melody's advice column | Ask Melody A Question ]
