Oddly a doctors test should be most reliable. I would try a home pregnancy test again. but take it first thing in the morning. if it comes up positive wait a week go back to the doctors. tell them what is going on. they may be able to explain to you whats going on. you will more and likely take another pregnancy test at the doctors office. ]
A doctors test is going to be the most reliable pregnancy test there is. However, false negatives
on urine tests can happen anywhere, especially if taken real early in a pregnancy.
If you want to ease your mind about it, and who wouldn't! Contact your doctor and request a blood
test instead of a urine test. Explain the false positives you had and your concern that the urine test given may have been wrong.
Keep in mind too that if you leave your home pregnancy test too long before checking it, this can also cause a false positive. Eventually, the urine will soak through the test, exposing the chemical strip that indicates pregnancy. ]
The doctor test said negative? Then you're probably not pregnant.
Pregnancy tests work because they detect a certain hormone that pregnant women have called human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG). If the test is positive, it's because that hormone is there.
There are, however, certain medications that also contain that hormone (alcohol and most OTC drugs do NOT contain it). Pregnyl, Profasi, or Pergonal contain the hormone as well as rare medical conditions such as an ovarian cyst or an ectopic pregnancy.
The test can also give a false pregnancy if you've had a miscarriage or if you've given birth within the past 8 weeks because the test may detect hCG that's still in your system from a previous pregnancy.

That came from the instructions included in the box of pregnancy tests I have.
Some pregnancy tests are tricky, and you may think you're positive when really it's telling you that something went wrong and the test is invalid.
Also, if you are pregnant, the first morning urine contains the most of the hormone (so make your doctor appt first thing in the morning, and try not peeing until you get there).
So my suggestion to you is to make a second doctors appointment, and if the result is still negative, talk with your doctor and ask his/her opinion. If anything, you can get an ultrasound soon enough to tell you what you need to know. ]
I don't think you are because first of all, the doctor tests are always more accurate than the home tests and second of all, you took the doctor test after you took the home test and you're more able to see if you're pregnant or not the further you are along...so I don't think you are...
Hope this helped! :) ]
