i have dirty but shiny blonde hair. it's kind of hard to explain, but it's a darker shade of blonde but it gets really light in the summer time. it's also kind of wavy but i want it curly. I have side bangs, but they can be turned into straight blunt bangs if i knew how.
Lately i've been really bored with my hair and make up. I want to know how to get curly/wavy hair that's sleek and smooth and shiny. also, some pin-straight styling tips would be good since i get the flip at the ends when i straighten my hair. I don't really want to go out and buy anything so here's what I have--- straightener, volumizer rollers, curling rollers, and a whole bunch of straightening and volumizing hair products. my latest curling iron broke, so i can't use that.
i love taylor swift's hair and i want something similar but less puffy and supermodel-esque. im in the 7th grade so anything grown up makes me look 17. easy curling and straightening or very cute styles would be greatly appreciated. i really want to do something with my bangs, so any tips on that would be great.
also for my make up, i want something to really bring out the brightness and blue in my blue/green/gray eyes. i've used almay's play up the blue before, and i dont really like it. i love the saying less is more, so the less make up i put on makes me actually look my age instead of older.
im sorry this is so long, but more descriptions the better for hair and make up. thanks in advance everyone!
**websites would be great too***

LetMeKnow answered Monday April 6 2009, 9:34 pm: Lets start with your hair. I'm assuming you want something quick and easy so here's my advice. If you want to use curlers, wash your hair at night and towel dry it. But whatever product into it and work it through completely. You my want to work in a bit of hairspray/mouse although with blond hair you have to go easy so your hair won't look dirty. Put your hair in the curlers. Of course, the less hair you but on each curler the tighter the curl. If your a bit short on curlers, focus on the front and then let the back be a bit looser. Once all your hair is in the curlers, go over it with a blow dryer in the low, hot setting. (If your hair frizzes easily go for the warm setting)do this for as long as you can stand but don't worry about getting your hair completely dry. Ideally, your hair will have started to dry itself around the front as you put the curlers in, just make sure your hair isn't dripping when you start. Wrap a thin towel/old t-shirt/clean book-sock(I'm not kidding) all around your hair and tie/pin it in place as best as you can. Go to bed. Try to fall asleep on side so there isn't too much pressure on the curlers.
In the morning take the towel off and pull the hair out of the curlers. Start with the bottom/back of your head. If your hair is still a bit damp, take the hair out in layer and blow dry each layer as it comes out. DON'T BRUSH YOUR HAIR. Finger through it while you blow dry only if you need to. If your hair is coming out dry then go ahead and take it all out and just blow dry any spots that need it carefully.
Run through your hair with a large tooth comb or your fingers. if its too curly then brush it our a bit. Don't use a boar-bristle brush or a regular comb though because this will turn your curl into poof. If your hair doesn't tend to hold a curl well, they spritz on a bit of hair spray. You can just spray it onto your hands and then bunch it through your hair. and Voila!
For this, wet just your bangs in the morning and then blow dry them on a round brush so that they stand away from your face and curl under.
For straight hair, start with dry hair. If your hair is pretty wavy, blow dry it straight (over a round brush) before you get started.
Clip the top half of your hair to your head so your working with they layer that starts at the top of your ears. with a comb, separate 1-2 inch portions and feel them into your straightener. Make sure the strands aren't stacked up the straightener and pull it out and away rather than just down. At the top of the section of hair, the hair should be coming out of the straightener at about a 35 degree angle to your head. As you go down the strand, turn the iron so that its is parallel to the hair going though it. About three inches from the end, turn it to a -30 degree angle as if you were flipping it out. This sounds complicated but it will become second nature once you get it. Essentially the straightener is curling under, then straight, then out. This way you avoid creases.
Let your hair down then clip up the layer starting at your temple. Repeat above. Let down all hair except bangs, repeat again.
At this point, if your hair still looks a bit flipped in/out, go over it again with the straightener against the curl. Don't use too sharp and angle though because that will damage your hair, causing frizz.
For your bangs, brush them straight up with a comb and run them through the straightener, also straight up. Again, Voila!
It is gets static-y, run a dryer sheet over your hair or spray a little hairspray on a come and pull it through. Also, use some sort of smoothing serum before drying your hair if you want.
For make-up, to make your eyes look more notifiable, play down the lip and face. Try not to put anything on your face except maybe a little cover-up if you want. Use a nude or clear lip balm/gloss.
For your actual eyes, brighten them by putting a white or beige shadow on the inside and outside corners and up to your brow bone. Do a chocolaty color on your eyelid. Try lining in a reddish/orange-ish brown color under the shadow. Orange is the opposite of blue so putting warm tones on your eyelids will make the blue of your eyes pop!

But I wanted to let you know that I really, really appreciate you dressing your age instead of older. It made my day. [ littlemisschatterbox's advice column | Ask littlemisschatterbox A Question ]

Well, Taylor Swift has naturally curly hair, that's why it's curly AND sleek like it is.
