excessive phone calls

Question Posted Friday April 3 2009, 8:42 pm

So, apparently our phone number belonged to quite a few people before we received it. We got this number three years ago and we still get AT LEAST 5 calls a day for various other names. We tell the telemarketers to take us off the list and they still call. For example, we opened an account at the local movie rental store and there is a list of six other people with this number! this has been going on for 3 years and still a steady amount of calls not for us are coming in. Please help me resolve this annoying problem!

Change your phone number. If you're not willing to do that, then you need to put your phone number on the DO NOT CALL LIST for telemarketers. You can do it online, but I don't know how to do it sadly. My boyfriend did it for me.

1. Change your number

2. Have an unlisted number

3. Call your phone company and say, "Please block these numbers blah blah blah."
