how do i get my hair like that?

Question Posted Saturday January 24 2009, 1:15 pm

My hair is not volumous, and it gets greasy pretty soon after I wash it. I use tressemmee, and I wash it every other day or sometimes everyday. Sometimes I blow-dry it, but mostly I let it naturally dry out.

I just don't know how these chicks on tv (not even celebrities) get their hair all perfectly volumous, shiny but not greasy, and wavy..

Aggravates me <_<

Do I have to spend hours in the bathroom blowdrying my hair and workin' on the hair styler liquids and crap? And what do you recommend? >_>

Thanks.

To help with the grease, try only conditioning the ends of you hair instead of at the root a few times-it gets greasy at the roots first right?

As for the shiny-ness, I like to put in Garnier Fructis products that are called "sleek & shine" while your hair is still wet. Blowdrying your hair using a round brush will add volume and shine. I have an "ionizing" hairdryer, which supposedly puts "ions" in your hair, which makes it shinier. Or if you dont have time to blowdry it right when you get out of the shower, you can just straighten it after it has been air-dryed. I usually do that-just make sure you buy a product that protects your hair from the heat while also adding shine. I like Paul Mitchell's "Seal and Shine" which costs about $7.

Try using a "balancing" shampoo. They're designed to remove oil from your scalp but condition your hair. Aussue makes one called "Cleanse and Mend" or you could try Herbal Essences Drama Clean.

I make my hair shiny and smooth by using deep conditioners and shine serum, then using a straightener to smooth out any kinks. If you wash and straighten your hair properly, you can easily get away with washing it every other day. It helps to find the right shampoo, because it cuts down on how much you need to wash (and therefore, restyle) it.

Good luck!

The cause of your greasy hair could be from you not washing out all of the conditioner properly. Also it could be from the type of shampoo & conditioner you use. Yes I also do reccomend you blow drying it after washing it becasue sleeping on it can tend to make it greasy. Depending on what type of hair you have, blow dry it and then striaghten it right after its dry. Use some 'Paul Mitchell' hair spray and try to poof it with your hands and it should help. Good Luck!
