I always get the perfect amount of sleep per night. Well, it varies from eight to ten hours. I take a melatonin pill at night to help me fall, and stay asleep.
The problem is, I NEVER wake up refreshed! I'm always dragging myself out of bed.
I've recovered from hypothyroidism which makes you really sleepy, but I'm taking Levothyroxine for that.
So, why can't I get out of bed in the morning?
Or else, how can I get a more satisfying nights sleep?
It is quality, not quantity that counts, right?
My advice to you is get on a regular schedule if you go to bed one night at like 11 and wake up at 5 and then the next night you go to sleep at like 8 and wake up at like 2 youre still going to be tired because your bodies not adjusted to your sleeping schedules.
Be mindful of what you eat befor you go to sleep, your stomache shouldn't be to full but it shouldn't be to empty either. Digestion doesn't work well while asleep, and a full stomach may interrupt sleep.
and,
Keep your room dark, Exposure to light during the time you're supposed to be sleeping can disrupt your body's internal cycles.

You get kind of "stuck" in sleep. I now take it once a week, and that improves the quality of my sleep throughout the week without making me drowsy or unable to get out of bed. I imagine melatonin pills do the same. Hmm. I don't know if the combination of drugs you are taking affects your sleep. Instead of an aid for sleeping, exercise a couple of hours before you sleep is a natural way to get your body tired and ready for rest. Don't eat before you sleep or do any strenuous mind-active activities. Find out what keeps you up at night. [ hotpotato's advice column | Ask hotpotato A Question ]

I don't really get the pills you said you take, so if you don't take a sleeping pill then completly ignore this answer!

Seriously, just go talk to your doctor. You have too many medical issues and medications for us to be able to help you. Go back to your doctor and take up your concerns with them. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]
