I have 2 gerbils, and I love them very much. I really want to get more, but my mom and dad won't let me because I sometimes forget to feed them. I notice in a day or 2, and they never eat a lot of food anyway, so there's no harm, but my parents are still set in stone. How can I convince them?

You don't want them to die, do you?
Pets can take a bit of time to get used to, especially when you have to care for them.
Just make sure you're caring for them everyday. That's one way to show your parents you can get more; to care exceptionally for the ones you have now.

I know that sounds harsh (sorry) but I think it is the only why to convince you parents. try setting an alarm so every day when it goes of you can check if they have food. wolfmoon answered Wednesday January 14 2009, 12:22 pm: My parents used to breed Yorkshires, and i always wanted to have my own puppy, so they devised a plan. They got me a pet rat (named mickey mouse). They said if i proved myself responsible then i could have my own puppy. Mickey mouse died about 4 yrs later, and i got my puppy (Lexy). I was sad that mickey was gone, but i was so proud of myself. Maybe you should sit down and devise some time of responsibility payment plan? And maybe try to feed them another type of food, and i'm sure they would love some alph alpha or your vegetable table scraps. [ wolfmoon's advice column | Ask wolfmoon A Question ]

rawrlolol answered Monday January 12 2009, 10:26 pm: Why do you want more?
Do you have a good answer to that? If you don't, your parents aren't likely to be convinced otherwise. Most would think two is more than enough.
You should start with paying more attention to the ones you have.
I have two critters myself and a reason I got them was because I didn't want someone else to buy them just so they can feed it to one of their other pets.
