Question Posted Wednesday January 7 2009, 11:55 pm

What do you do if you want to send somebody a friend request, but they require their last name and/or email, but you don't know either. And their profile is set to private.. and you have no way to contact them.. ?

You can ask a friend that knows that person. There is at least one person that will know that person's name and last name.

You can still send them a message...

Tell them in the message that you apologize because you don't have their email and could they please add you instead. I do it all the time for my band when someone I know doesn't accept adds from bands, I will message them and say "hey it's me this is my band... I wanted to add you but your profile wouldn't let me." That's it.

Its usually nothing personal, some people set it like that to avoid those spam robots and they want to be sure it's real people contacting them.
