Well, I'm from Ohio and I think the best places there are Cedar Point and the Hard Rock Cafe.

In Virginia, which is where I live now, we have all kinds of things. Kings Dominion. Bush Gardens. Jamestown.

There is a lot to see in all of the states. You should look up maps and things online. Have fun!

I'm from Georgia so i can help there =]

Tybee Island is a beach in Savannah. It's wayyyy in south Georgia but it's pretty fun.

Also like the other advicenator said if you like rollercoasters, go to Six Flags! It's in Austell and it's muchoo fun. we go all the time. you can ride the new rollar coaster - Goliath. it's first drop is 200 ft tall & it's amazing! & there's a mini water park inside Six Flags or you can go to White Water which is a different location but it's owned by Six Flags now.

There's also Stone Mountain which is alot of fun. You can ride/walk up the mountain and if you go in the winter time [which i doubt yall are] there's ice skating at the top, but in the summer there's other things to do at the top & at night they have lazer shows which are pretty cool.

Calloway Gardens is fun too there's like a nature trail and a REALLY awesome butterfly garden with this huge dome thing and you walk around and butterflies just fly all around you. its insane. And in the summer they have a lake and there's things you can do out on the lake like those big things you jump off of and water trampolines and paddle boats and stuff.

and of course there's ATLANTA which has EVERYTHING. The Varsity is a fast food restaurant but it's really really popular down here. if you're from Georgia or even some close states - then you've eaten at the Varsity. i dont really know why it's famous, but it is. There's also this REALLY tall hotel called the Westen[sp?] Plaza and at the very top floor there's a restaurant and the whole top floors spins around really slowly so as your eating you can see for miles and miles around you! you can even see Stone Mountain from up there. it's kinda pricey food but really cool if you get to check it out. There's also the CNN center, ESPN center for sports, The GA Aquarium which just opened and is the biggest in the south.

that's all i can think of, haha. have fun!

I don't think you should plan your stops. It will be less fun. What I think you should do is go on the highway and look at billboards and if you find something funny, like the world's largest truck stop, then stop and have fun. It'd be more fun if your not like actually planning something and if it just comes to you.

I live in NC, so my suggestions for beaches are Oak Island (not much to do, but very pretty beach!).
Also, Myrtle Beach is a HUGE attraction.

In both NC & SC (it's on the border) there's the theme park Carowinds. The land part is in NC & the water park part is in SC. It's one price for the entire park, but it's about $40 a ticket unless you are able to find discount tickets. If you like roller coasters & theme parks, it's definitely a great thing to do. I'm assuming you guys are waiting until the summer, but if you're going any time soon, then I'm not sure Carowinds will be open since it's winter - at least I doubt the water park will be. Also in NC, there's a Wet & Wild Emerald Point. It's a great water park. I haven't been in about 4-5 years, but back then it was only $20 or so for a ticket. I'm sure it's more expensive now.

NC has Reeds Gold Mine near Concord. NC also has a lot of great national parks. In northern NC, there's Boone. I'm pretty biased on my feelings towards Boone because it's where I go to college, but it's a very nice small town that's basically a college town. Most everything closes early, but if you're into snowboarding or skiing, they have some nice places to do that. There's also places like Howards Knobb and other mountain climbing trails - it's a really pretty scene (all the NC mountain areas are really nice).
If you do go to Boone, be very careful with your driving - there are cops EVERYWHERE! They have no problem pulling you over for speeding, etc.

Sorry I can't help with the other states.
I've been to Florida a few times, and my obvious answers for things to do are Disney. Not much help since that's very expensive. I know they have a bunch of beaches, but I'm not really all that sure what there is because I don't live there.

Anyway, I hope you guys have tons of fun - I've always wanted to do a crazy road trip like this!
