Peeps answered Thursday December 25 2008, 6:27 pm:
It does sound like a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), which is fairly common for everyone. Some women are more prone to getting them than others for whatever reason.

Sex seems to increase UTIs because during intercourse some dirt is actually pushed into the urethra (the place where you urinate from). This is why it's always recommend to go try to urinate immediately after having sexual intercourse. Having intercourse often can, obviously, increase chances of you developing an UTI.

Please, do not try to wait this out as previously suggested. The user that "waited it out" probably simply had a yeast infection that went away on it's own (you still should see a doctor for these, by the way). A UTI can end up being very serious and you can do MAJOR damage to your bladder and kidneys if it spreads up that far. It IS serious if left untreated.

Cranberry juice also is not going to make it magically go away--it helps PREVENT this from happening if you have enough of the juice every day but it does not make it go away. So, in the future you may want to start drinking 2 glasses of cranberry juice a day, make sure to urinate directly after intercourse, and NEVER "hold it" when you have to go to the bathroom.

Please, see a doctor as soon as possible to get this taken care of. It isn't hard to diagnose, especially after you tell them your symptoms. They'll probably write you a prescription to take and after you're done with taking all of those pills you'll be better. There isn't anything to be embarrassed about either so please don't avoid seeing someone who can help because you don't want to admit to them you had sex or something silly.

Take care of your body because it's the only one you have. Please, see a doctor. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me! :)

P.S. For note, NEVER EVER try to diagnose yourself. Many women diagnose themselves with yeast infections when they have a bacterial infection--something that can totally wreck their bodies and make them infertile for the rest of their lives. Some people get yeast infections and UTIs confused. Some people have burning sensations when they have contracted an STD. For all I know, I'm wrong. I'm not a doctor but I do know the seriousness that this could be. Please, don't take chances and HOPE it goes away--sometimes the symptoms of certain illnesses will go away but it will still be hurting your body.

It could possibly just be a bladder infection. A lot of my friends have got it from having sex and it's nothing too dangerous.

Here is a website that might help you out.

I could be wrong but it's most likey a Urinary Tract Infection. Go see a doctor. And for the future, ALWAYS go to the bathroom before and after sex!
