Question Posted Friday December 12 2008, 3:22 pm

hi everyone. i know its not right to spy on one's girlfriend but somehow i was prompted to spy on mine. a guy wrote on her facebook wall, what was obviously a response to something she had written to him. I dont see what she wrote to him, when i check her facebook wall. then i created a false female facebook account with a random photo of a pretty girl, with which i invited the guy. the guy accepted the invitation and so i could access his profile. through his profile, i accessed my girl's account, and then i saw the message she had written to the guy on her wall. hope this is not too complicated. My question is, did she do some stealth setting to prevent me from seeing what she wrote on the guy's wall? if so, how could she have done that?
am just curious to know if she has a tendency to cheat on me; she told me she had told the guy she's got a man and that i dont like the idea of her meeting another man, like he had requested to meet her in person even if its only to be friends.

You can only read the wall of someone you are either friends with or someone who made their profile public in your network. Like if your school was Advicenators High, and the guy went to Alligators High, and you guys weren't friends you won't be able to see his profile, including his wall. Or if you both went to Advicenators High and he made his profile private you still can't see his wall/profile. Hope that made sense. So you can't read the guy's and your girlfriend's wall-to-wall with each other because you'd have to be able to see both of their profiles.

No. You couldn't see what she wrote before you made a fake email account because I'm guessing you weren't "connected" with this guy (you aren't his friend on Facebook).
Facebook isn't as public as MySpace for example. You have to be friends with people to see their stuff.
This is the problem with couples and the internet, too. Curiosity get's the better of you, leading you to be suspicious.
Try not to "spy".. if she knows you're browsing the internet, I highly doubt she's going to do something to hurt you right in front of your face.

ya she could have blocked you theres a certain program on facebook that allows you to block certain things from people but you werent the only one who wasnt able to see it other people on her list probably werent either so there is such a thing maybe you should talk to her about it not the whole spying on her thing but just talk to her about this guy and tell her how it makes you feel im sure she will understand.
