feeling weird about life..

Question Posted Friday December 12 2008, 2:57 pm

16/f

First let me say that i am a Gilmore Girls fan. I have watched all 7 seasons two times and just finished the last episode today. When rory and lorelei see their surprise 'bon voyage' party and say goodbye to everyone, i felt so sad. I was so addicted to this incredible TV series that i think i actually fell in love with them and felt as if I was somehow involved in their lives. (I know it sounds strange but stick with me here) So after the episode i just sat there in silence, wondering. I was thinking that this was a disaster, the gilmore girls tv series came to an end. (i went through this before, and it happened once more today) i realized that they are DONE shooting gilmore girls and it is a tragedy how i will never know what happens next. (of course i could just imagine what happens next) but that is not enough!!! I want to find out and see what happens next. All i am saying is that it really bugs me that something that was so close to my heart, something i loved to see, has ended. I know that a lot of people feel that way about so many things. Such as, people they have lost, books that have ended, or movies. But after thinking for about 15 minutes i came to realize that my life is SO DULL!!!!! I want a life like the gilmore girls, exciting things happening all the time. I know i am only 16 and nothing is really supposed to be exciting (except drama like break-ups, fights blah blah blah) but I am talking about something different.

for example- you know how lorelei always goes to luke's in the morning to get coffee?? or how she knows everyone in her town?? or how there are town meetings?? and how the town gets together frequently to have a knit-a-thon, or hay bale maze, or 24-hour dance-a-thon?? or how rory and lorelei have friday night dinners with the other gilmores?? I WANT THAT!!!! my life is SO DULL. here's my schedule- i wake up, go to school, come home afterwards, do homework, eat, watch tv, go to sports practice, come home, sleep. then it starts all over again. On the weekends- I hang out with my boyfriend and friends, sleep, staying at home with my family, watch movies. and thats about it.... seriously though, i think i am going to go insane if nothing changes about my life. (and by change, i DONT mean like a haircut, or changing my wardrobe... i mean like daily activities) I am only a sophomore in high school and i cant wait another 2 and a half years until i go to college, where i get to experience being an adult and trying new things. I cant drive so its not like i can drive anywhere i want and do anything i want.

I am just looking for advice on how to make my life more interesting and well... less dull.

I have been thinking of ideas like-

- quitting sports (because i have lost some interest in it lately) and start writing for possibly my school newspaper (i want to go into journalism) but to do this i will have to wait until next year because it is too late to sign up now

- planning a friday night hang out night with some friends that is a weekly event.

those are my only ideas so far... so any advice?? i'm going insane here!!!!

THANK YOU FOR THOSE WHO ANSWER!!!

This is my favorite question so far! And this is my second Advicenators account :]
I'm fifteen, and I haven't had time to devote to the series, but I want to be JUST like Lorelei and Rory-- both of them! They are abbbsolutely interesting, and they talk with such intellect despite the nonsense of the conversation, if that makes sense.
But that happens to me ALL the time. It's soo annoying!
I know I'm not answering your question, but I can totally relate.
Sometimes, I fall in love with book characters (i.e. Finnigan from 'The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie' by Jaclyn Moriarty) I don't know if that spelling is write.. lol

But yeah. I've ALWAYS just been "that one girl next door". But really. Two guys in my grade almost literally live next door to me, and yet they fail to acknowledge my existence. Sigh.
But you're not alone. Remember that!

&& Life's short. Talk fast.
